Lower School CO-CURRICULARS

Lower School students (JK-4th) practice their creativity and express themselves through visual art, music education, physical education, STEAM and Bible classes each week.

Every student JK-4th has PE twice a week and attend the other co-curricular classes one or two times a week depending on the grade level and curriculum.

STEAM / 212°

(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics)
Weekly STEAM Lab classes feature the WozEd Curriculum. During their time in the Lower School, students will complete WozEd’s Engineering, Animation, and Coding Pathways Levels 1 and 2. STEAM class builds collaboration, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. At 212° water boils and becomes Steam!

Music

Music class teaches students how to match pitch, identify and understand rhythms, improvise, compose, and listen to and evaluate musical performances. We enjoy singing and playing different instruments throughout the year!

Art

Every child is an artist. This stage of their development is an important opportunity to cultivate and honor their individual creativity. Students are introduced to various artists and time periods, as well as multiple media and processes.

Culinary

In culinary class, students explore geography and cultures through food, reinforce math concepts, and practice ‘kitchen science’. The experience of creating food builds their self-confidence and lays the foundation for healthy eating habits.

Physical Education

Our students learn that exercise, teamwork, play, and a healthy diet are important for all aspects of life. An encouraging environment ensures students learn these lessons in a safe manner that honors everyone.
